Domestic Violence

From the given theme of 'Covert and Obscured' I was influenced into researching and exploring domestic violence as it is more than often hidden from society and kept 'behind closed doors'.

The concept of this image is that the right hand side is perfect with makeup hiding the obvious signs of domestic violence, which from research I found that most women do (not to be stereotypical) as they feel that makeup acts as a mask and is easier to hide their problems.

Whereas, the left side shows all the signs and physical affects which are the outcomes of physical abuse. To create this look, my friend who is currently training in theatrical makeup.

Finally, the viewpoint which I have taken the image at is of those of which a mugshot in a detective case would be and the reason why I done it this way is because I wanted to make it seem as if the domestic violence has been found out and they are investigating what has been happening.

Ballet Silhouettes

I wanted to create an elegant feel to show the beauty of such an feminine and elegant sport. I decided to do them in a form of Silhouettes as it enhances the well practiced and perfected shapes. Also, I was able to highlight the features of her face to make it not look like an ordinary silhouette and show that there is some personality within the photographs.
